Looking ahead to June
On Saturday 3rd June from 10.30am – 3.30pm at The Hub, St. John’s, Knaresborough.
You are personally invited to our Benefice Vision Day which will be led by Rev Canon Robin Gamble, the Bishop’s Adviser for Church Growth. This is an opportunity for all four churches in the Benefice to come together to discuss how we would like to shape our future. Lunch on the Terrace overlooking the River Nidd will be provided. Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church. We look forward to a fruitful day together!
funeral service planning tea
Saturday 17th June from 2.30am – 4pm here at St Thomas a Becket, Hampsthwaite.
Have you ever thought to let your loved ones know how you would like your funeral service to be shaped? Would you like to have certain hymns sung, or specific music played? What readings would you prefer? Sometimes, when those we love pass away, we wish we had been able to know what they would have liked said or sung during their service, but perhaps the opportunity to discuss those things didn’t arise.
We would like to offer help to shape your own service plans and so we are holding a session to help you think about what choices might be available to you. At the end of the session, you will come away with a leaflet for you to fill in with your choices and keep alongside your essential documents.
During the afternoon we will look at:
There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and discussions during the afternoon and there will be a tea, kindly provided by Food for Thought. The session will be led by Rev Chrissy Wilson and will be informative, but should also provide some fun and fellowship along the way.
If you would like to come along, please either ring or email Sue Baugh on 01423 771734 or email Sue at: firstname.lastname@example.org
You don’t need to be a church member to attend – all are welcome and we very much look forward to seeing you on the day.
Save the date!
